Breed egg colors

Hi all

I have a black orp breeding group (10f2m) and their eggs are all consistently cream coloured.

I also have two olive egger girls and one cream leg bar (blue) girl in the same pen - obviously I can identify these eggs separately to the Orpington eggs.

If I hatched olive x cream or blue x cream, what coloured eggs would the offspring of these crosses lay? I am wondering whether I could dual purpose my breeding pen and get some olive or Easter eggers ?

What I am really trying to do is maximise the gains from a single breeding run/cockerel as space is limited and I cannot have many cockerels.

blue x cream,

Probably a light (maybe minty) green.

olive x cream

50% will be green, and 50% will be a brownish color.

Thank you. The blue eggs might be worth collecting then to improve the efficiency of the pen.

Generally olive eggers only carry one blue egg gene, and so crossed to a brown Egger only half their offspring will inherit the blue, therefore creating 50% brown layers and 50% green.

Not necessarily. But a purebred blue egger should. (Like a cream legbar)
