Breed for personality?

So I constantly see people breed for color traits. Does anyone breed for personality traits such as protectiveness or friendliness or handability?? Is there any research as far as passing personality traits? Thank you.

Some probably want the low hanging fruit that they can see quickly, like beauty, personality takes a while to see, just my opinion...

You are right. I am just wondering if anyone has done at serious research into this like has been done for passing color traits or funky feathers.. I have an idea. It would be alot easier to accomplish in this lifetime if someone else has already done some of the hard lifting.

I breed for personality. My results show it goes both ways.

Friendly sire, friendly sons.
Mean sire, even worse sons.

In my experience, the personality of the dam has little to no effect on the offspring.
