I've gotten white, or half white earlobes on birds that had parents with red earlobes. Can’t see it for sure. Only shows in her earlobes and tail
I see the crossing says White Leghorn, & Aruacana, but it looks like there maybe more too the recipe.

I can’t ask the breeder but she ordered them from Hoover’s and this is what Hoover’s says soI've gotten white, or half white earlobes on birds that had parents with red earlobes.

Yep, I read that. But it's no biggie.I can’t ask the breeder but she ordered them from Hoover’s and this is what Hoover’s says so![]()
Could araucana be the dominant color? Her other chickens didn’t have brown but had white instead (which were the ones she kept) but don’t araucanas have lots of different colors similar to Amerucanas? I never really looked into themYep, I read that. But it's no biggie.
Part of the reason I mentioned there maybe more to the recipe is that there'd be more white, or other colored birds with white on them. Of course birds not pure for dominant white will sometimes produce none white offspring. But that's if they're bred together, or bred to a chicken of different color.
I was talking about the White Leghorn half in the mix, since they're Dominant White.Could araucana be the dominant color? I didn’t know they had black. I figured white was dominant based off my old austrawhite but could the araucanas coloration be more dominant?I was talking about the White Leghorn half in the mix, since they're Dominant White.
White Leghorns are E/E, I/I. Extended Black(Two Copies), & Dominant White(Two Copies).
Dominant White is leaky on red base, but not on silver. Dominant White X Black produces Paints.I didn’t know they had black. I figured white was dominant based off my old austrawhite but could the araucanas coloration be more dominant?
Looks pure Brahma. Here’s the chicken from the first guess! She’s gotten a lot bigger and her leg feathers are showing more. She is the austrawhite x light Brahma
Right?! It’s even weirder because as a baby she had a brown stripe down her back. I wish she was pure but close enoughLooks pure Brahma.
