Breed Guess?

I just got this pullet today. She's supposed to be born Aug. '08 but still very much has an immature voice. The gal that gave her to me had rescued her off of craigslist. Apparently her and her cage mate were being fed cockatiel food. Her cage mate didn't survive, she was lucky to find a new home. She could hardly stand and was stunted growth wise. She still has a crooked toe [I guess her toes were all messed up to begin with.]

Anywho any breed guesses??

Wow. I even hesitate to guess but maybe a Modern Game??? Wow...poor thing! Glad she has a new home!

Maybe you should also give her extra vitamins, if she's been undernourished.
As for her toe, my guess is she was either born that way, or it could possibly be from malnutrition.

So sad. The poor girl does look stunted.
I have no clue. Might have to give her a bit more time to tell.

Thanks for the responses. That picture was a week old, from the gal who gave her to me.

She is on vitamins that I put in a waterer for her. The gal had her on them as well.

Just a suggestion -- maybe put her food in a dish so she doesn't accidentally ingest shavings or bedding while she's eating. Especially since the goal right now is to get her plenty of food.
I'm sure she's going to be a lot happier and healthier now that you've rescued her... kudos to you!

I appreciate the reply. I've raised chickens for 5+ years now and never had an issue with shaving ingestion. These shavings are pretty big as well so she would have to work really hard to eat a bunch of them and cause an impaction. I appreciate the concern for sure

but also know I've been keeping a good eye on her all day and she's been doing fabulously.

I really have to give mad props to the woman that gave her to me. She did all the rescuing. I'm just providing a home with other hens for her to be social with. Her former mom took really good care of her and got her to the healthy bird she is. I'm just glad there are people out there that don't look at chickens as "just a bird" that someone would actually take the time to get this little girl back on her feet is awesome.
