Breed guesses for my rooster?

Back in April, I bought a straight run of day old chicks from my local feed store. They were chicks hatched out by a local 4H group for a project. I got 4 groups of three chicks in each group: 3 Black Australorps, 3 Delawares, 3 Golden Sex-links, and 3 that were supposed to be Blue Asians. I knew right off the bat that the 3 "Blue Asians" were most likely not what the 4H kid said they were, based on the rarity of the breed, so I waited for them to feather out. Sure enough they all feathered out in barred feathering. I only have 1 left (the other two were lost to a predator in June) and he's a rooster. I have one picture of him that I took Sunday. He's about 5.5 months old now. The picture is not the greatest, as I took it with my phone, but I was wondering if anyone would be willing to give me a guess on his breed (or mix of breeds). He's got a single comb, no feathers on his feet, a few spots of a dark caramel color on his feathers, and some tail feathers are dark, shimmery green.

Probably a Barred Rock mix. Maybe a Barred Rock hen with a Black Sexlink rooster, that would account for his light barring and off coloring.

I'm hoping he is a Barred Rock, even if he is a mix, as I love that breed. I did have someone a few weeks ago suggest a Cuckoo Maran mix, but I'm not sure about that, mainly because I know very little about the breed.

Marans have white skin, and it's dominant over yellow skin. Your bird has yellow legs, so he likely does not have a white skin breed in his background.

He's a mixed breed bird, with barred Rock ancestry. Not Marans, they have white shanks which are dominant.

Ah, thank you for the clarification. :) Unless someone else comes back saying different (not likely), I'm going with my gut, and majority, and saying Barred Rock mix. I'm happy with him, he's super sweet, not aggressive with people or the hens, and he's pretty. :)

I'm glad he's a good bird for you. I had a similarly bred bird as my flock rooster for several years. He was beautiful and amazingly docile. Plus, since they're only part barred, when you hatch chicks you get all sorts of different colors and patterns--about half barred, half not. So depending on the momma, you can get quite a colorful flock

I'd say barred rock mix as well.

I have an EE, Black Australorp, Delaware, BO, and 3 Golden Sex-link hens...Really excited to see the different coloring of offspring from each, when mixed with Sven. Thanks for the replies, everyone! I really appreciate it!
