Hi everyone! My three remaining surprise chickens are all grown up now and I'm wondering on what breeds they may be?
The two hens hatched from blue eggs, the rooster hatched from a brown/olive egg with brown speckles.
Thank you!!

Where did you get them? They all look like mixes to me. The rooster sounds like he was hatched from an Olive Egger egg (who had a French Black Copper Marans parent) and the father was most likely a Wyandotte. The hens mothers sounded like they were EEs, though that black one is built like a Whiting True Blue. Their fathers were most likely a Wyandotte as well from what I can see of their combs.

I got them from my neighbour. They were supposed to be duck eggs!
I was told that the rooster was an Orpington and the hens were Western Rustic, but I dont think that was correct. Theres no way those two breeds made these guys.

Definitely not. The bulkiness of them could have come from one of those breeds, but I'm seeing that coming from the Wyandotte anyway. Perhaps they're wrong about their own birds. Could you ask them if you could take some pictures of their parent flock?

I think they're very mixed in lineage. Wyandotte is the source of the comb type, most likely. And probably olive egger derived from black copper Marans is another parent. But that doesn't really account for the heavily feathered legs of the male. He may have some Brahma in him, too. They're very handsome and healthy looking birds whatever may be in their mix.
