Breed help please.. I think I was told wrong.

Morning! 2 of my ladies I was told are silkies. However they will be 9 weeks Monday and don’t have their head fluff so I know they’re not. Coin is my all buff/blonde feathered foot that I need breed help with. Opal is the partridge feathered foot gal. And well just for fun, Flora (my most bonded gal) decided she needed a headshot and didn’t like I was taking pics of Opal and Coin and not her.. so happy Friday with Flora’s debatable stink eye at me

I’ve been leaning towards Brahma or Chocin but this is my first flock so still learning.

Where did you get them from? It looks ro me like you have a Buff Brahma Bantam and a Buff Cochin bantam. I got some from Rural King last year and the employees thought that every chick that had feathered feet was a silkie but they are actually a feathered assortment. You can tell if a chick is a silkie because they will have black skin, 5 toes, and a poof on the top of their heads you little girls are so cute though! Congrats!

I got them at Cal Ranch. I read that about silkies.. no 5th toe. And definitely no black skin. I keep checking if the 5th toe is going to sprout out . I’m glad I’m not crazy. My husband swears I’m thinking too hard on it. I’m like no… thank you!!

Ok one more question.. I read brahmas are slow growers.. how can I tell she’s a bantam Brahma vs standard?

She's a buff brahma, a buff brahma bantam, you'll know that if she's larger or smaller than your other LF birds. How old were they when you were told they were silkies? Because they look nothing alike, no 5th toe or the black skin, plus they don't have silky feathering

They were 1-2 days old.

So I have a bbr oeb and they are double his size. They are closer in size to my RIR and my two ISA browns but a little smaller.

The Brahma looks standard and Cochin a bantam to me Both of their varieties are buff
