Breed help?

Any ideas on what type of cockerel this is? He was given to my friend to replace the mean cockerel she raised with her pullets. Any help is appreciated!

Pretty colors in him.

Is that a single comb?

My first thought was a Blue-Laced Red Wyandotte, but that should be a rose comb...however single comb is a throw back that crops up and breeders would give any bird away for free that had a single comb....which may be why she got him for free.

Color looks to be blue-laced red at any rate. Wyandotte is the most common breed with that coloring in the US.

Barnyard mix. Something blue mixed with something red....that's about as close as you're going to get, I think.
