Hello all!
The other day my cousin called me saying that she had found a duckling in her back yard and was wondering if I would take it. I have raised ducklings before (and currently have week old Cayuga and Rouen in my tub hehehe) so I said sure. The little duckling is very small, probably no more than a day or two old I estimate, and has markings I don't recognize. My best guess is Silver Appleyard but I've never actually seen one in real life and from what I know they are pretty rare. Of course it is entirely possible that it is some sort of wild duck, being that it was found outside, but it doesn't have typical wild-type markings. I've had it 2 days now and it seems to be doing well. I have it separated from the others of course, but it is extremely friendly to people! Would love to know what it is!!!!
For some reason it wont let me upload a picture but it looks just like these guys with a black spot on its head and tail. The only difference is that it has a black bill and black feet. Will post pics later when I'm on my desktop!!! Would love some insight!!! Thanks!!!
