Breed ID please

Is she laying brown eggs?
You didn’t buy her recently?
The top one is hers I'm pretty sure, all my other girls are either too young or the other two layers have distinct coloured eggs (the blue and white)

Also I did buy her recently, the people I got her from had her for about 12 months🙂 got her and the leghorn together and they're both consistent layers been getting an egg every day since I got them

An ISA Brown, which is a patented breed , is the only true ISA Brown. They have white feathers mixed in. I have 6. Yours looks like a red sexlink. I also had one of those. They have black tails. The egg came from a sexlink because my ISA's lay dark terracotta colored eggs.

Thank you for the input, that makes sense! Also I was wondering where her dark feet come from? Is that common in sexlinks? Haven't had one with feet like that yet, I'm used to more light/yellow

That doesn't look like an ISA brown egg to me; all the ISA browns I've had over the years laid darker eggs. I still think that your bird is some sort of Red Sex Link mix.

As far as I'm aware, red sex link is the umbrella term for all the names such as ISA brown, golden comet, etc @NatJ I remember you talking about it on another thread. Am I missing something?

A Sexlink is commonly a cross between a RIR male with a white or silver gene female. Ex. Mine was RIR and Delaware. Yours must have a parent with dark legs. Maybe she's mixed from a mixed breed. Her legs are similar to an EE.

ISA Brown is the brand name for these birds and stands for “Institut de Sélection Animale”.

This is the institute that first bred these birds in 1978. They were initially bred as a battery hen to produce large quantities of eggs per year. ISA Brown are excellent layers and have been known to produce around 300 large brown eggs a year per hen.
Merck & Co. merged with the ISA Group in 1997 to form Hubbard ISA and is why ISA Browns are sometimes referred to as Hubbard ISA Brown.
The company was merged with Hendrix Poultry Breeders in 2005 ISA became part of Hendrix Genetics.

I believe that's the OTHER type of red sex link; the one that can be created in a backyard setting.

The Red sex link that is available on the market (and also trademarked), the one most battery hens are, is the one that can be called "ISA brown"

**** edit... this was meant as humor hence the lol. Red sexlink is equivalent to calling every facial tissue a kleenex. Lol

I got my red sexlink from Ideal poultry. My ISA came from Hoover Hatchery.
