Hello everyone: I bought a group of
14 hens about 6 weeks ago as newborn chicks. 14 chicks, 14 different breeds. They were not labeled (came from MPC.com). They’re old enough now that I can figure out who’s who in almost all cases, but...I’d like to pick your brains about the following ladies.

Candidates: One is a Buckeye, one is a Speckled Sussex, one is a Buttercup, one is a Golden Comet, and one is a Welsummer. On the pic with 3 girls the questionable one is on the far right. On the far left of that same pic I’m pretty certain is a Golden Campine. I just can’t quite pin down who’s who among these last 5 girls...thanks in advance!

I see a Gold Campine, Speckled Sussex, Welsummer, and maybe a Buckeye (though it looks like it is to light colored to be that). By buttercup do you mean Sicilian Buttercup? They look a lot like Campines but have different combs.

Yes, Sicilian Buttercup. But which one is which? That’s my dilemma - I know what I have I just don’t yet know who is who among those 5...

Agree with Gray Farms. Looks like there is a silver spangled Hamburg in the pan too next to the Campine. None of the birds looks like a Golden Comet.
Ok let me ask a clarification question. In the last pic the bird to the RIGHT is the campine? I thought the one to the LEFT was the campine. I think the one in the right is the Buttercup right? My dilemma is the 2 birds in the new attached pics below. They look almost identical - both look like buttercups to me...I don’t see that I got a Golden Comet either tho...weird...

The darker bird is the golden Campine, the lighter bird the Buttercup. You can also tell them apart by leg color. The Buttercup should have green legs and the Campine should have blue or slate legs.

Ok so..neither of the birds is the Buttercup then, it’s the left-hand bird beside the pan, right? I’ll attach another pic of her below to clarify. So - regarding the 2 pics above - one of them is the campine. What is the other (very similar) bird then? I think what’s clear is that I did not get a Comet but perhaps got a duplicate of perhaps the campine? Or a 3rd unknown type?

lol you're confusing me! In your original 5 pictures, the bird in the 3rd picture is a Buttercup. The gold one in the pan in the 5th pic is a Campine. The bird in your new pic is probably a Buttercup with the wrong leg color but I am not sure. It is too light to be a Campine. The distinguishing feature of Buttercups are the combs. As said above, your birds may be too young to tell if they have the right comb or not. I'm attaching pictures of Buttercup combs so maybe you can see if your birds have them.
