Hi, check out feathersite.com. They cover all poultry and fowl and some breeds I've never heard of before and mixes.
I have a few S.Favs that are 2mo.,we got them as a suggestion from our 4-H poultry leader, she looves them.
They are cold hardy and lay through the winter and quite docile. From what I've read they may need their own pen because it said they are usually on the bottom of the pecking order being so docile, which I see already cuz our Silkies even go after them at times. The roosters & hens are very pretty too.
S. fave yes i have had a roo die on me b/c of not being able to get food. and umm the hen died. i was trying to catch her see ran under may foot just as i put it down and you know she died. i had them for a week. but they were the nicest breed i have ever had
I got a Salmon roo and white hen 4 years ago, and they were goregous and very docile. Managed to get a few offspring, all roosters. They had some funny foot/leg defects and were high strung or slow learners -- my DH and I wonder if this breed might be a little inbred. Does anyone know?
