The law of average is a funny thing. You could order 100 and only end up with 1 or 2 or none. Sometimes quite the opposite. I was simply stating my experience. There are a lot of breeders in the Ohio area that carry that color. The same breeders that supply local hatcheries.Hmm. Actually, I got a bunch of EEs from Meyer this year, and none had any blue at all. All the ones I got from Murray McMurray had a lot of blue and red in them, however.
If someone was to cross a blue wheaton with a silver, a blue silver duckwing could very well be a result.... or other possible crosses between accepted colors. That would still be an americauna.
that would be impossible for the first generation. I'm saying that an americauna of an odd color only disqualifies it from show. It doesn't change the breed. How else do they get new colors? Many many people on the ameraucana thread would argue with you about it still being an ameraucana. Ex. if you cross a buff with a blue you no longer have a pure color, therefore you no longer have an ameraucana. It has been discussed over there. i have never heard of anyone crossing those and getting that. So are saying every chick hatched look the same?
I am not going to express my opinion on the subject, more than I have. All I have to say is It takes years to get a new color accepted. They is a process they have to got through and requierments that have to be met. Some one dosent just wake up and decide they are going to cross a bunch of colors and it will be a accepted color variety.that would be impossible for the first generation. I'm saying that an americauna of an odd color only disqualifies it from show. It doesn't change the breed. How else do they get new colors?
But then it would be considered a red Easter Egger, not an Ameraucana. No one said anything about an accepted color. Its simply calling it the color it is. If it was red i'd call it red....
