Haha no problem. I have raised mix game for almost my whole chicken life ( five years) so I have learned the many painful lessons of game hens! As long as she doesn't go broody you should be fine on the egg gathering, maybe look at a stuff animal to be her buddy for a bit? I know that sounds odd but some birds grow attach to stuff animals which calm them down until their future flock mate appears.

Now, I do not know the weather in Peru at the moment but is it starting to become winter down there? With less light a hen laying may cut back, and on top of stress of new home and chicken parent (

) she might be a bit high strung about feeling 'secure' on laying her eggs. As long as she is bright eyed, bushy tailed and over all her normal nature and not having any odd stuff going on around her vent she should be healthy.

Hahaha, sometimes she's interested in my adopted dog but the dog is unpredictable a little bit and I don't let her much around my little chicken, only in my presence and a limited visit . In Peru starting summer, yesterday was a little bit hot and I was preoccupied about her because she had the mouth open a little while, I supposed was because of high temperature in the air. But she lives in a space that is like an open balcony (my laundry room) and around have ceramic tile that doesn't warm too much the ambient, always fresh water, grains, alfalfa, sand. Here in Peru the day light is until about 6 pm all day of year, no matter winter or summer, and she become sleepy around 5:30 a clock.

Ah okay, summer kicking in so that means hot weather. Maybe try shave ice as a treat if she'll take it? I live in Mississippi were heat is a bigger killer sadly for birds not use to it. If her mouth is open and she has wings drop it is a bird way to cool off and get wind flow since they can't sweat. Does the area have a good cross breeze for air flow? And sand is good! It'll help her dust bath and keep clean from mites.

She is a beautiful girl, I don't know anything about game breeds. I wonder if you get a rooster for her - will it be very protective & attack you. That is something I wish Miss Heny would answer for both of us.

Yes, the area is well ventilated, here in Lima, Peru, the temperature on winters are about minimum +10 degrees C. For sure it feels a little bit down than that but is no necessary warming the rooms, and also the Peruvians houses have air open spaces (skylight I think is named) all the time of the year. I was afraid to give her salad from the fridge in order to doesn't get ill, Do you think will help with that in the hottest days? Or just trying to shave ice, seeing that she accept that as a treat? You are such a treasure for me, miss heny, I do not know much about this little creature and I want the best for her. Thank you so much for all the information you give to me. Oh, I would like to mention that in the night as it feels a little bit colder, I cover his cage with material, giving her more intimacy and obscurity and protection of the cold air, for her good sleep. I hope nothing is wrong covering the cage, because as she lives in my house, in the night we put the light on and she might be disturbed.

Game roosters for generations are bred to be human friendly because they are handle a lot. Now here always those sour apples to be wary for, and as long as another rooster doesn't appear there should be good peace.

Sadly that includes if she hatches any roosters the father will see them as a threat once they are old enough to crow and they might fight bad enough to kill each other.

Sorry was in the car so couldn't reply to the other stuff haha. Greens are 100% safe for her. And the blanket if you have a lot of flashing lights help keep her body time good.

Hello, hello! Good evening! Today I saw the reaction of Kiki when met my dog. She was so close to the dog that suddenly pecked her nose (of course, I had her in my arms). But she is so brave, this little creature. How mysterious way to communicate between such different breeds. Normally I thought that my dog will heart the bird, but I was surprised with such reaction.
