Breed recommendation?

Hi I'm going to be getting more Chickens in February due to me having a small flock and I'm wanting to expand it, I have D'Uccles, Favorelles, OEGB's, Orphingtons, Silkies ect, I've been looking at Cochins or Standard OEG's, Your thoughts?, And more breed recommendations besides thoes two I'd totally look into

if you're looking for dual purpose, Rhode Islands are hardy birds, good layers and easy to raise, like Barred Rocks.
For laying breeds, I would go with a leghorn. They are a bit flighty, but they lay a ton of gorgeous large white eggs.
I personally like wyandottes, they are large and cold hardy, also very friendly.

Just be warned, I have Cochins. And they are about 8 months now. They don’t start laying until about 9 months, and they take about 2 years to fully grow. And they aren’t great layers, but they are adorable. Here is one of mine, Ruby.

Your birds look great! Did you get them from a hatchery?

Nope. From our feed store. They had an assorted Cochin bin. We got 4, but one of the chicks that looked like Ruby died early on

No, it's alright! My feed stores have a VERY limited selection of breeds, and most of them are crossbreds Lol!

We got ours from Carolina Town and country. They ALWAYS a have chicks there. I think that feed store might only be here in NC, but it’s great. They also, sometimes, have goats, and 2 times, they even had a COW! They also usually have older chicks as well, like 2-3 month old chicks

It is. They one time earlier this year had Appenzeller Spitzhauben chicks (the same breed as my rooster) but they were sold out I REALLY hope they bring them back next spring
