I posted previously about these ducks that I purchased that were supposed to be two laying age females. Any input or knowledge you could impart on these "girls" would be great. The black / grey one is a vocal quacker and I hope is a female. I know

literally nothing about these two so I great appreciate all of your help and knowledge.

8 weeks old at most, definitely not anywhere near laying age. they are most likely mixed breeds, and i would need to hear voices to tell their gender

Looks like a male and a female mixed breed. The brown one is still ambiguous until it either quacks, or looses it's voice and acquires a drake feather. LOL

If the grey one has quacked even just once it's a female. By now you show hear a difference in voice if you pay close enough attention. Even at 3-4 weeks I can tell males apart since they start to develop a rasp that when combined with their peeps almost sounds like a squeaky toy. Pick the brown one up and listen closely. Both are mixed breed by the looks of it.

I will have to take the boy back sadly. I got them to be friends with my already existing drake. So let me ask this, Can I get an older (egg laying age) female to live with the 2 month old female?
