Interesting, I didn't realize there was so much difference between the 2 standards. I would have only thought a slight variation.

Yes, I’ve seen many ‘hatchery quality’ clean legged BCMs sold as ‘English standard Black Copper Marans’.
There is no such thing as an ‘English standard Black Copper Marans’. The varieties recognised buy the British Poultry Standards are Black, Dark Cuckoo, Golden Cuckoo and Silver Cuckoo. I can’t remember if white was accepted recently or not.
