Breed suggestions for a chicken newbie

My Buttercups are very friendly, inquisitive, don't care about heat and mature early. Mine are just at point of lay but are supposed to be good layers. Very quiet. I've had naked necks before. Lay huge, huge brown eggs, all year long no matter how hot it gets. Really gentle, quiet breed, too bad their not cuter. They thrive in heat and even in cold. Easter Eggers don't seem to mind the heat much and are calm girls but not great layers.
My leghorns are sort of flighty but very heat tolerant.
My Old English Game Bantys are laying great, wish I had a bunch of them. They are the very best pets!

i say sexlinks aka comets, great egg producers and will come and eat out of your hand or sit with ya at your door step if you let them free range, i actually tripped over mine when i was trying to walk to the backyard to bring them treats and check on their food and water buckets. besides my silkies they were the best chickens i ever had

4) not too loud:

Our rosecomb bantam is loud. All her children are loud, even mixed with Silkie.

but, she's very pretty, very sociable, good pet (half her children made great pets), fancy looking, her sons have that beautiful doopy up long tail. Good for hot climates.

For ease of pet maintenance, the Silkies really worked out great for us, but we're in a mostly colder climate. They like a bath and a blow dry if they got messed up. they're not loud. They fight off predators. Their bonus is really good pets for the garden, but their near dearth of egglaying may not be what a new chicken keeper is looking for.

I have seen articles on neat chickens for hot climates, I hope to see pics of what you've finally chosen!
