I have 3 rhode island Reds, 6 months old, and one is distinctly different from the others. Curious is anyone knows if this is a different breed or a variation within the breed. One is a darker red, matured about a month faster (though originally the runt), and has darker, slightly smaller eggs. The other 2 have long tan wing feathers, are lighter in color, and one still isnt laying eggs yet. I've included pics...the tan wing feathers are the most obvious difference...

Looks like one of them as some sort of wing issue, split wing or angelwing maybe, looks like natural variations in the breed. Hatcheries and most backyard breeders don't breed to a standard so birds come out and get bred that losely fit the APA SOP (in US) and sold at feedstores as such :D you wouldn't believe the variation I've seen in feedstore Wyandotte's, but from a friend of mine whose a breeder his all look like twins/sisters in patterning and overall look, only difference is he keeps a few different colors! :D

I assume she’s just hot. But some variation is normal.
