So my mother got a surprise check and we always thought it was a black star but none of the other black stars her and I own have such black legs and a black crest and two days old she was all black no white.

Actually looks like a very tiny single comb. Being from a hatchery, that wouldn't be unheard-of. She could be something entirely different too. Keep us updated!
