This girl showed up in my yard today. Black with a little copper at the neck and feathered feet. Also how can I make sure she is healthy before mixing all the girls? Thanks!

She’s a BCM (black copper Maran). I agree with the other posters about finding the owner. If somehow one of mine went missing I’d be devastated and would try to find it at all costs.

It may very well be a Black Copper Marans. If you can not locate her owner, I'd keep her separate from your flock for a minimum of 2 weeks.

If you have a dog crate big enough, you could keep her in that to determine is she is safe to mix with your flock. I normally keep new chickens separate for two weeks before integrating with the flock.
