Not sure of what kind of chickens these are. Some kind of gray something? Does anybody have any idea?

Looks like American gamefowl, or at least crosses thereof. Depending on age would signify a cross, they look like they are getting close to the age they will be separated.. So whoever the owner is might should be working on that quickly before the stags (cockerels) kill each other.

I don't doubt it's a possibility, but they look green legged? I was thinking more along the lines of a Redfox grey, but it's hard to tell without knowing the breeding. I had some Larry Romero grey's that looked similar, and regular greys look a lot like the birds too.

The hens don't look full grey, look like they're mixed with a type of red fowl. But one or two are the exact image of some greys I had (and still have a hen of that line) the line I have is a grey X Doc robinson hatch fowl mix..

Law grey's have been known to come green legged if I recall correctly, but they're primarily yellow legged fowl (possibly white too.)

You'd have to know the person who bred them, and then they would have to be the type of breeder that keeps good records. Otherwise they just might be "grey fowl." But that is truthfully all that matters, a strain name is just a name given to a set of birds because of breeders. In my opinion, after the birds leave Law's, Redfox, or any other persons hands after the first generation they are no longer their fowl and should be given your name or something.

Every breeder breeds differently, I could buy some of Redfox's greys and breed them without ever crossing anything in. But give me 3-4 years and you will probably notice some differences where mine may come completely pea comb while their's throw both single and pea. Mine may throw 100% (or mostly) buttermilk (silver Wheaten) grey while theirs throw both buttermilk and the regular duckwing variety. Among other things.

I'd say if you like them, just breed them the way you want and call them "Maddogg greys." Or whatever name you choose to give them

. They just might turn out better than some of the "name-brand" Greys too.
