Breed?

I just got this baby chick from a friend. Does anyone know what breed it is? My friend was not sure. I know they are not the best pics, little guy isn't used to being handled much yet.

It could be a basque or a back yard mutt. It is a pretty chicken. It could have new hampshire red in it. It could be a comet or a cinnamon queen. I can't really see the comb. It may even be a swedish flower hen.

I would say that he is definitely a Production Red, which is said to be a cross between a New Hampshire Red and Rhode Island Red. Hatcheries also mix in different breeds, so their genetic makeup isn't very well known. Most have Leghorn blood too which can explain why hens are so proficient in laying. Chickweed is a handsome young rooster.
