Breeding a California White

I’ve been reading all about different chickens, and the one I don’t understand is the California White, which is supposed to be a white sex-link. I cannot anywhere find what roo & hen are crossed to create it. Anyone know? Thanks!

I saw that on a hatchery website:

They also say they use a CA Grey rooster over a leghorn hen, this combination does not create sex links as both male and female chicks will carry 1 dose of barring. On top of that, the chicks are yellow and you can't see the head spot so would be unable to sex them that way regardless.

That’s strange. Dominant white is not a sex-linked gene, so I don’t know why they would claim it is.
