Hello, my name is Alan I am new to this forum. Need help deciding what male to put with female. I bought a couple beautiful snowflake bobwhite quail. I have two males and one female. I am trying to mate one pair and sell the other male. I have separated the males from the female, one male was getting aggressive with the other. This is where it gets tricky!! The less aggressive male calls to the female but no response, when I originally took out both Males, the female only made noise when I took out the aggressor.
The question is... should I put the female with the more dominate quail ( he was only aggressive to the other male) or should I put the male who is calling with no response from female.

IMO, see if you can coax her into liking the less aggressive one, that's a good trait to breed for. If it doesn't work, give her the aggressive one.

The aggressive one might have become aggressive because it formed a pair bond with the female and wanted the other one gone. Had it been the other one forming the pair bond, he might have become just as aggressive. I'd let the female have it her way and keep the aggressive one.

X2, let the female have the aggressive male. With only one female, the males will fight.
