Breeding Delawares to the Standard of Perfection

I guess Ill just have to take lots of pictures of the birds Im starting from and get some input on what to really plan for in the future.

I will probably have to introduce the male into the line because that's what I have to work with but I can keep my hatchery dels separate from the Kathy line for sure.

The hatchery girls line is primarily an egg production project since they are such good layers I am hoping to see if I can get them a bit more size without losing too much of the productivity.

I'm going to take some Delawares to a youth education outreach poultry event soon-ish and have been asked to bring along some printed materials about them. What kinds of things should I include in this "flyer."

I'm thinking a short history of the breed, but I'd also like to include some info about the APA Standard for the breed without violating the copyright.

I'd also love to include some considerations for people working with this breed ... what kinds of breeding goals to set based on the present state of the breed? What kinds of pitfalls to watch for? Maybe even where to find birds to start with?
