Hello all!

I have a trio of ducks and a trio of chickens. My question is (as in new to this game) can my ducks and chickens breed in the same pen and go clucky. I've just introduced a rooster to my chickens and my ducks are mating at the moment. Should I seperate the pen for the ducks or will they be fine? Thank you all

I've heard of people doing it, but it's really not ideal at all. Chickens need to keep their feet nice and dry, and ducks will quickly turn that thing into one big slush pile! And likewise, chicken poop is a lot drier than duck poop, so it can turn to dust relatively easily and it will irritate the heck out of lil' ducky air sacs. So it's really best to give them both their own space.

Great thank you Amy! Our pen is quite large, but was thinking of dividing it up..

I think that sounds like a good idea. :) You would be amazed at how messy ducks are, hehe! But I wouldn't keep any other pet in my life now that I've got 'em. <3
