Breeding for meat birds.

I just today purchase a tub style plucker and some Cornish X chicks. I know that this has probably been asked many times. But what breeds can i cross to create a fast growing meat bird. I know that the Cornish X has been developed for that purpose and there is know way to create them. I want to be able to hatch my own meat birds that will develope fairly quick. Any suggestions what the mother stock should be?

Thats hard, I tried FR and FBCM and have 3 chicks that are about 2 1/2 weeks old and they are no bigger than my ee hatched along side. I take that back one is but I think it is a roo. it was only an experiment I will see how it ends when they are 12 weeks. Michele
