BREEDING FOR PRODUCTION...EGGS AND OR MEAT.

Cockerel group of pure Dark Cornish

Pullet group of 3/4DC 1/4CX - white or splash in color

Thanks again. The skunk one definitely is a male.. at least one of the girls is barred, which is a sex linked gene. She will throw cockerels with white head spot/back and daughters without. A little tricky to go by if one or more of the white hens are not barred.. those won;t throw any barreds/cute skunklets.

Thanks Kev,

I will document and track the dot heads and dark heads.
I did have a sexlink thing with my DC rooster BamBam and CX Betty. All pullets were splash, cockerels born white and leaked red after a few molts.

Quote: Thank you. Yes, the young hens are from the January/February hatch. The older pullet/hen is from last July. Then I still have two of my foundation hens (6 years old) to breed to the nicest of the two cockerels. The sire of the cockerels is now 3 years old and I will breed him back to two of his daughters and to the foundation hens in the fall 2017. Good thing I toe punch and keep pen records.

Batch #2 hatch so far: 7 of 8

(3)F2 generation(green mark) - 50DC/50CX two white/one black tux

Okay check out the last egg 12 midnite 10/7/16 well okay 10/8/16. Developed to about 16 days again and quit.

I was wondering if you were keeping track of egg weights? In the photo they look like decent size eggs, 60 gram range perhaps?
