BREEDING FOR PRODUCTION...EGGS AND OR MEAT.

Complete change of heart. I won't let a couple of folks who think they own BYC (because they post on every thread). If they don't like the mixing-up of ideas and ideals on this thread and also the fact that we do not kowtow to the APA, they can get their kicks on threads that are more in-tune with their ....I'll stop here. I hope my point is made.

(ahem)

Um, glad you're staying. Ignore whoever it is that's bugging you, but stick with us - we'd miss you!

I breed my birds for size and health, not for any arbitrary appearance standards. One of my black copper Marans roosters has a couple white sickles in his tail, and so what. I am not selling any of his eggs or chicks, and he is by far the mellowest rooster I have, and besides, I like him.

Please yourself, not anybody else.

BTW, I am new to this thread, so let me introduce myself. I live in southern Arizona, work as an aircraft mechanic, but hope to retire in the next few years. I raise Black Jersey Giants, BBS Ameraucanas, Easter eggers, Partridge Cochins, Black copper Marans, barred Rocks, Rhode Island Reds, and red sexlinks (probably my best egg layers).
I drive an old GMC truck, and usually have chicken sh*t on my shoes. When it runs, I also ride an old Harley ElectraGlide.

Awesome! How 'old' is your GMC? I'm more into Ford's, but I have a '73 Jimmy 4x4 convertible that I'm dying to fix up. Chickens have been costing to much $ and the wife thanks we / I have spent enough on frivolous crap

'95 GMC long bed and a '95 Harley FLH, I'd really prefer a Dodge, but I got the GMC cheap (and it had really low miles. It's up to about 40k now.)

Off the chicken topic but '95! I thought you might have a classic, lol. ('95 is old, I'm getting old....) I missed out on a buddies '73 GMC 4x4 3/4 ton truck, he blew the motor and couldn't find anyone to buy it so sold it for scrap! It was rust free, rare in upstate NY winter salt roads land and in nice shape for the yr. I could have put my Jimmy motor in it! Sold it before I heard. But I like the convertible, and they are rare, just going to take some $ to get it where it needs to be. Frame and mechanics are great, body panels and floors need to be replaced, not real bad, but not worth dinking with as far as repairing. It's like a full size jeep, top comes off to the windshield and no door pillars, real convertible. Only 60 some thousand miles, but it's seen some salt and definitely age. Big tires with rubber fender flares and double stacked leaf springs so it's slightly lifted, (road like a tank or dozer though, rough ride).
