BREEDING FOR PRODUCTION...EGGS AND OR MEAT.

Can't believe my good fortune! It's about 90* F and humidity is roughly 180%...ok subtract 100 and that will pretty close. But from what I hear, West Virginia weather is calling for something like negative 30*F by Saturday so I'll not complain.

We eat late here (as at home). Tonight we're having catfish steaks. So good, about 2 inches thick...very white, almost boneless.

MMmmmmmm....catfish! I haven't had a good catfish dinner in a very long time.

We had a brief cold snap with hard freezes at night last week, but now it's in the upper 70s to low 80s here with low humidity this week. You guys really should've considered Arizona for your winter vacation.

The catfish sounds great!
But me personally I'll take the 30 below to 90 above with that kind of humidity. Ewww- sweat.

I complain but I do love this place...additionally, I had other reason to be here but not for so long. I'm hoping the weather will moderate by the time we get home.

87F, 16% humidity here today.

One of my favourite websites- I re visit this from time to time. It's unfortunate that it hasn't been updated lately, but it's a fun and informative site nontheless. I particularly like the Welsh Black chickens.
If I could import two British breeds, it would be the Welsh Black and the Ixworth. Wouldn't that make a nice mixed flock?

Just ordered my Chinese caponizing kit from Poco Pollo. It should arrive in March a bit before my Dorking chicks, so I'll have time to familiarize myself with the equipment and possible try it out on a few cadavers before working on the hatchery Dorkings. The SOP Dorkings will remain intact to make my breeding selection from the broadest number of options.

Where are you getting your SOP Dorkings from?
