BREEDING FOR PRODUCTION...EGGS AND OR MEAT.

Ohhhh....you can pretty much count on that....I don't even want to go outside in August....heck....it's already hot here...but we know what to expect....what really sucks is....when it rains so much in the spring, we don't get all the stuff taken care of in the cool...and BOOM! it's miserably hot.....

Yep. And I've got plenty to do outside since I couldn't do things because of the rain this spring. This morning was actually cooler than it has been lately - probably because of the thunderstorm that came through around 0330 this morning. Now I'm hoping it will dry out enough so I can get some paint on the new turkey house that we just built.

You guys are all talking about how you have to much rain. You must have stolen it from us because our fields are turning a crispy gold which literally never happens around here...

LOL. It's feast or famine, drought or flood here in TX. We've been on water restrictions for about the last 5 years and now our livestock need to have lifejackets on. Makes for an interesting life since TX weather changes in a New York minute and we have to be prepared for all kinds of temperatures and weather, pretty much every single day.

Ive got 2 to 3 inch pines a tallow trees taking over my field. It's been over 6 months since i could get the tractor in it.

Ugh. We shorted out the winch earlier this month after pulling the riding lawnmower out of the pasture and trying to pull a chicken house out of the mud.

I had to chuckle at that.I apologize. I'M 48 now,if I had a nickle for everytime i got my tractor stuck over the last 30 yrs I'd be rich. I've finally learned to walk it out first. If I see fresh crawfish holes..It's too wet!

Lol! I've got a old '64 Case 530 backhoe, I was told you can't get a hoe stuck. Yeah right! I got it out after a few hours and about $50 in fuel! Left a HUGE mess!

I knew it was too wet for the big tractor but I was so hoping that I'd be able to at least get the stupid riding mower in the pasture since it hadn't rained for a week before I got it stuck. I was wrong. Oops. My husband tends to get unhappy when I get vehicles stuck in the pasture so I do try to avoid it. :) Crawfish holes....this year we have had so many darn crawdads, frogs, and turtles trying to live farther away from the pond than usual. Watching the chickens and cats fight over crawdads has been hilarious.
