BREEDING FOR PRODUCTION...EGGS AND OR MEAT.

We lost our power for three days once. Large chest freezer. Nothing thawed out, just starting to on the outside of the packages the third day. Trick is to keep freezer full and any extra space fill with two or three liter soda bottles and gallon milk jugs full of water. They come in handy to keep the fridge or a cooler cold in a power outage also. And when they thaw you've got clean drinking water. I'd dare to say we could be out of power for a week before our freezer got above refrigerator temp. We do have a small backup generator now just in case. Three days without power was like camping in the comfort of your own home.

I'll admit, I'm a bit of a 'prepper'. I'd not worry about a 1-week outage...but if the sheit hit the fan, a 1-year outage could create a bit of discomfort for all concerned.

Must have been Army. We used to go to air force when we could. They eat GOOD
The AF detachment on Ft Campbell said they got a hardship pay for living in army barracks and eating at army chow halls. They swore it's true. I got those guys big time in Iraq ... we had a microwave in our signal shelter and I had brought microwave popcorn. Not a one of them thought to bring cigarettes for barter, so I ate the bags of popcorn in front of them.

I saw jaws as a kid. Been ruined on salt.water ever since

That movie traumatized the whole nation and may be the whole world. I haven't so much as stuck one toe in salt water since I saw it and I was just a bit older than a kid! I know it's irrational and the fishes aren't any more dangerous than when I truly was a kid and would go to the Maryland and Jersey shores, swim out just far enough to get the lifeguards waving and screaming.

I would feel things rub up against me or get a bump...assuming it was at worst, a sand shark...

NEVER SINCE AND NEVER AGAIN !!!!!!!!
