BREEDING FOR PRODUCTION...EGGS AND OR MEAT.

I am not easily offended and was not offended by your comment, and stand by my statement that you should always give full disclosure when selling or giving a live animal someone else is going to have in their care. I don't care how common, if you know your animal has an illness, or is a carrier of something, or their line has congenital issues known to you, you should disclose.

I thought my original comment was clear I knew how common it is since I said the flock would likely be re-exposed w/o complete isolation from all of outdoors.

The best approach would be not to share from a flock that has had sick birds. That would be the common sense approach. In this case, there should be no birds being discussed.

There is no way that I would share any bird that I thought there was even a chance of spreading something to another farm. I would not take the chance, so there is no necessary discussion to be had.

Respectfully, you still do not get the full point, but I will concede the point.

OK, I need a recommendation here. I would like to buy a quality, durable set of poultry shears/scissors, that will hold up to actual and regular use. Ideally, these will be the last set I need to buy, unless we simply need a second set for simultaneous use. What brand name(s) and model(s) do y'all recommend?

We use a couple different types but the ones I use personally and recommend is made by Wusthof. very high quality and comes with lifetime guarantee.

EDIT: to provide link. You have to be awake and on your toes because these things will cut off human flesh like a razor if one is not concentrating on the job at hand. I don't do it but they will cut right through poultry leg bone with little effort. I don't hesitate to use on ribs, wings and other small bones but I don't want to dull them foolishly and have to exercise the guarantee.

I use these to take out the backbones for spatchcock.

These guys produce small but meaty suckers, also possible sex linked but I gotta document more and do a test breeding of next gen. I know they are bantams but small meat birds are still great, specially for smaller families.

She looks alert in the pics, that is a good sign, hope she heals quickly

Same, talked to a poultry friend and he said her wing will just heal funky as long as she has no internal bleeding. So thankful because her and silver are one of our best broodies, with around 20 chicks between them hatched.

It's very windy and cold here today with a skiff of snow and it's still swirling around. I'm not at all surprised that the Chanteclers are out and about but what does surprise me is the fact that the Dark Cornish are right there with them, heel to toe.
