BREEDING FOR PRODUCTION...EGGS AND OR MEAT.

Three days, nakeds have their wing feathers about grown out, chipmunk chick, just the tips. All pretty healthy. Only had semi pasty butt on two nn, definitely easier to deal with that with them Lol!

Question, many of you have had dark cornish, they threw in a extra chick. It's a chipmunk chick, I've had both Welsummers and brownleghorns, looks like a cockerel welsummer to me, didn't realize dark cornish are chipmunks also..what's the visual difference between the two?

Easy! Look at the comb. The tiny pea comb of the Cornish will be perfectly flat. If you look closely you can see the tiny bumps of the single comb tips even on day old chicks of the single combed leghorns and welsummers. If you have rosecombed leghorns, it's much more tricky, but the cornish tend to have splotchier chick down especially on the head, and will be rounder and stockier, heavier legs, with slightly shorter down.

@CanadianBuckeye, hmmpff...Thanks, didn't think of the comb this small. I was hoping dc, I see straight bumps, not as pronounced as the nn but there nonetheless. Looks like a wellie cockerel to me like I first thought, just was wishful thinking.

IDK, I give up, just might as well wait to see what feathers come in. :idunno

Hmmm..... well whatever he is, he's a cutie! That chicks looks eb to me, not e+- looks a bit gold laced wyandotte-ish , maybe............ but not if you can see a straight line of bumps on the comb.
One of my chicks last year was very similar to yours, but without the very dark stripe on the back, and he grew up to be New Hampshire coloured- very orange- but he was a mutt.

Actually I think I'm going to change my mind- e+ with Db. Had a closer look at the pic.
