BREEDING FOR PRODUCTION...EGGS AND OR MEAT.

Cackle seems to be the consensus. I want to get good quality chicks for my trial run and I've never ordered chicks before through the mail. My local feed store used to do all that for me.

They're sold out of a lot of breeds....If I were going to order from Cackle Hatchery this season, I'd get to their on-line catalog and order by phone. You really can't pay too much attention to the 'delivery dates' you might see on the catalog page...

My partner has decided he wants some Dominique cockerels to start a project he's been considering for quite a while. Don't know exactly what he's planning but he ordered 15 cockerels and will weed them down, one or two at a time after they're 6 months old, keeping the best 5, going into breeding season.
