I am attempting to produce future sex-links, so I can know what is my meat and what I can sell as pullets from the start. I've done it before, but only with the RIR/BR mix.
After reading a chapter in 'Sexing of all Fowl', I decided to try a few other crosses to get possibly larger birds.
The combination I had previously used was under the heading of RIR with silver hen (BR and several others including), so I used that and also included Cockoo Marans, Light Brahamas and White Rocks.
Now, I already know what the RIR/BR chicks will look like and according to the book, I will see similar with the other combinations, except the White Rocks, but I'm wondering if any of you can tell me about your experiences with these combinations.
