breeding lavender cuckoo orpingtons(pictures and info)!

THAT WAS A GREAT LESSON! I'm ready to start breeding for the bars. All i have are Cuckoo Marans hens, no rooster. So i need to find a barred rooster? I do have two Lavender Orp chicks, very calm chicks so far. Anyone have a stud Lavender barred Orp in So Cal?

I have a 3 month old Lavender Cuckoo Orpington Rooster..

..He hatched from my Lavender Orpingtons that I acquired from GreenFire Farms...I believe they call it a mutant gene..

..I was not breeding for the Lavender Cuckoo....but I have one....He hurt his wing and when he is completely well I will post pictures of him....I will be breeding him to unrelated Lavender and Black split to lavender hens and selling hatching eggs as soon as he's old enough......so any of you wanting Lav cuckoos Orps..

if you cross a lavender orp rooster with a lemon cuckoo hen you will produce sex links. the female will hatch all black and the males will hatch all black with a white headspot.. some of these birds will be crele looking and other will be mostly black but this will vary from bird to bird as the lemon cuckoo birds carry powerful columbian restrictors..

no. Lavender is an autosomal(none sexlinked) recessieve, it needs two copies of the gene to express.

Boy they have some fluffy butts!! Gorgeous!!! They are way fluffier than my solid lavender orps

I am working on lavender in the Marans. I got silver cuckoo Marans so I can cross them in for lav cuckoo marans once I get the lav marans going and looking good type wise. I really would like some lav cuckoo orps though great big fluffy puffy ones! ;p
