I have had horrible hatch rates with shipped Lemon Cuckoo Niederrheiner eggs. Out of many dozens attempted I finally have one male and one female (different batches) that are adults. I would like to breed them BUT the hen has always had angel wing (which I have read can't happen, so... ???)

Would breeding her be a bad idea? Is it a genetic fault? Is it worth trying since this breed is so rare and difficult? I also purchased a lemon cuckoo orpington and have a a very light golden cuckoo marans as alternatives.

I welcome all thoughts and opinions.

I would hatch enough chicks to determine whether or not it is dominant or recessive trait. I would eat all of the cockerels and test breed the pullets back to the rooster. All the while I would be looking for more birds from other breeders.
