Oh, I thought they were still tiny, lol.

I just read the wry neck can be caused by a Vitamin E deficiency . . .I wonder if giving supplements to the parent birds before breeding might stop it from happening.
I am planning to give parents vitamin e and b because I fed them medicated feed for about 5 weeks for cocci prevention but I read that it can cause vitamin deficiency in chicks

I'll probably be making a similar post next spring, lol. I have two roos and both have qualities I like and don't like. I'm thinking the best way to decide which to keep is by breeding both to different sets of hens and make sure they're both fertile and the chicks don't have any health issues.

Yeah it’s tricky deciding which to keep, I love all my roosters though they are such characters

The father doesn’t have any physical defects, his wing just has silke-like feathers, the father is very healthy and has never had any health issues except for lice. The mother is a very good looking chicken, has no issues that I’m aware of
One son is perfectly healthy with no visible or neurological flaws
The other had bad wry neck that is mostly cured but he’s a bit special, and he also has feathers on one wing that are kind of messed up, but nowhere near as bad as , makes me think he wasn’t a chimera
I speculate the wry neck may have been because I fed the parents lightly medicated feed for about 5 weeks
I expect there might be some Silkie in his background: just dominant white or silkie feathers doesn't mean much but both of them together says to me Silkie introduction

Chimeras arise when two or more embryos fuse during development, resulting in a single individual with cells from both embryos. For example, twin pregnancies can sometimes lead to chimerism if one twin absorbs cells from the other, even if the other twin does not survive.
If he were recessive white I would think a somatic mutation causing Silkie feathers is more likely.
