Breeding Question

How long after a rooster has be removed from a pen do I need to wait so that I ensure that his genetics won't be passed on.

Basically this is what I have:

I've been considering breeding a BO rooster to BR hens so that I can get sex linked chicks, but I want to know how long I need to wait before the pure breed's "stuff" is no longer in effect.

I've seen 2 weeks posted as the basic standard of time that a mating is viable. But each bird is different apparently, so there can be exceptions.

About 3 weeks. Some say 2 weeks but there have been fertile eggs produced by hens at nearly 3 weeks.

I always wait 30 days to be on the "safe side." At least before I sell purebred eggs.
