Breeding question!

Hey guys! I have a brand new hen. I don't know the actual breed but I am curious about domestic hens and breeding habits. She is a year old and has never been paired with a Tom. I am planning on getting a Tom soon to pair with her. Will she be receptive to breeding still? And how long will she be receptive to breeding? Also what time of year do most domestic breeds breed and raise poults? Sorry for the flood of questions and thank you for any info!

The breeding habits will be based on your area.

I'm in the midwest and my hens started laying in mar. of this year.

Last year they laid until aug or sept then quit for the year.

If she has not laid all the eggs she wanted for the year or already hatched a couple of clutches then she should be receptive to the tom.

If you could post a pic I'm sure members on here could I.d. her for you.

Thanks for the reply feed man! Big help! I'm going to see how she reacts to the presence of a Tom and how receptive she is! In the meantime here is the best pics I could get of her before roost! Any thoughts on the breed?
