Breeding Silkies?

I just got a pair of approx 6 month old white silkies - these are currently the only 2 birds I have at the moment. Will the rooster mate with only the 1 hen? Or would I need more? Also how will I know if the eggs are fertilized and I should leave them alone? I am new at this so any tips would be great!

I used to wonder the same things just a few months ago when i was new. The rooster will mate with anything he can get his beak on, and will do so often. Most of the eggs she lays now will be fertilized, save for a few unlucky ones for whatever reason. All there is left to do once youve got a broody hen or a working incubator is wait the 21 days. (feels like years.) Once those eggs hatch youll feel great! Just try not to intervene for another 2 days after the first hatch. Whatever eggs are left over are the duds. Hope this helps!
