Hi, I've seen that outside the US, Silkies regularly come in... well, regular-size! And I've heard of a few people breeding their bantams toward larger sizing, but I haven't seen much about results. So my question is - how would one go about breeding for size? Can you just pick the largest birds, breed them, and continue? I imagine that would take years and years though, would it not? Or do people cross the bird with a larger breed, then breed back and select for size? I've had Silkie chicks but they seem to grow up all the same size, so it's hard for me to imagine starting with JUST silkies and 'breeding for size'... if they are all about the same, lol! So I'm really curious as to how this works.
