Thank you for this information, I was not aware that all hens will not incubate their eggs.Unless he is very young, they are probably breeding already. Do you have an incubator to hatch the eggs or are you counting on some of your hens going broody ? Not all hens will incubate eggs.

I have Australorps and Andalusians.You are best mixing in a mature cockeral that is of breeding age, not one too young to breed. He doesn't have to be the same age as the hens, and could be an older rooster, however if you add a very young not yet mature cockeral, the hens could harm him severely. So any age as long as he is mature.![]()
