I have a serama hen that I want a specific rooster to mate with. Once mating occurs, how long will this this mating last? Keeping her with him is a option but but out of curosity, I was wondering how long a mating was good for?

Sometimes they have to get used to one another for few days sometimes weeks especially if they don’t belong in the same flock.

If you have more than one roo, there is no way of ensuring that all of her chicks will be sired by the correct roo unless you exclude the other roo(s) from contact for up to a month. A hen will usually be fertile for at least 2 weeks from a single breeding, but she may be storing sperm from multiple roos.
