Stupid question, I know.. but my Bantam rooster keeps doing his deed with my standard size hens. Clearly my hens aren't laying Bantam sized eggs. So my question is.. since he's mating with them , does this mean that the chicks could come out with his colors?

Oh ok. he's a silver laced Wyandotte. I think they'd be quite pretty.

I don't think lacing is a dominant color, but I'm no expert on genetics.

First, you need to check yolks for fertility to see if he can even 'reach his mark'.

I have a big rooster too. I guess I'll see if one of my hens goes broody.
