My Anconas have only ever gotten about 2 feet up then, like a cartoon, seem to look down & realize they are in the air, which ends their fly time immediately.
Lately they have been running around the yard flapping like crazy. I sort of wonder if it is the fall migratory phenomenon. They never look like they know what they are doing, or why. They just get into a little triangle & flap around the yard with this look on their face my kids get when I catch them at something & even THEY don't know why they did it.
