I say cockerel as well. He's got patchy red coloring and looks pretty lanky. A pullet at this point should be nice and round, so to speak, and he's pretty tall and skinny.

honestly. You could definitely be right. Could you maybe get some closer pics of the saddle area OP? Saddle feathers are no joke

S/He is definitely got height on the other girls!

I am also thinking his/her legs seem a little thicker than the other hens. Oh well, what will be will be!If Brenda is now Brandon, that means I have 4 hens and 2 roosters. Not sure how that will go. Pecker, my silkie roo, has hit full blown puberty but hasn’t started messing with the girls yet so apparently they aren’t as far along yet. He was hatched in mid-may, a hand raised singleton (the other 6 eggs didn’t develop/make it to hatch) that has done a great job accepting his ladies (and a cockerel apparently) over the last month.

Guess we will see what happens and go from there.

It is a cockerel. You can see the beginnings of male specific feathering on his upper shoulder. Definitely a late bloomer but that happens sometimes.

Yes, his hackle feathers are what made me start questioning him. They aren’t as obvious as my silkie but the girls do not have this new growth that “Brandon” now has.
