How did you teach yourself to caponize? Any resources you can direct me to in particular?

Here is some references that I used. One of these is a poultry book, another is a veterinary animal castration book and mat require that you look at the table of contents to find it, and a couple are booklets from Kansas State U agriculture station and the sears capon set:

I read all of these, and studied them. I had a nice long post about this, but accidentally deleted it. So I am going to have to redo it when I have the time. Hope this helps for now.

When I first started, I cut on both sides, but the last few I have done were from the right side.

WEnt sight seeing for other documentation on the bresse. Like many things, like CHampange, the name is a legal issue. Here is an awesome article via a Holland source. THey are noted breeders extraordinare. Of Flowers and horses and chickens and cattle.Well worth the read.

I had a mixed bred hen that looked like the grays-- she and her sister were lovely to look at.
